Don't give to landfill this Christmas

20/12/2017

Christmas is one of the busiest but most fabulous times of year. With spending time with your loved ones, giving presents, eating food and enjoying all the festivities, it makes it very easy to forget about recycling.

Did you know that each household produces around one tonne of rubbish every year? It’s very important that we do recycle as it saves energy, helps to reduce landfills, preserves our resources and protects wildlife. It is also great for the economy and helps our climate problems, meaning if we recycle it produces considerably less carbon, which reduces the amount of unhealthy omissions.

So with all that in mind, what can we do to be a little less wasteful this year? The answer is simple, recycle!

When you get that brand new bike on Christmas day, instead of throwing your old one away, why don’t you take it to our Keighley or Wakefield recycling plants for us to dispose of professionally? Or when you cover your roast potatoes with tin foil and finish your bottles and cans make sure you set them aside to put in the recycling bin.

Whilst enjoying all the fun, Christmas is a time for thinking of others and that includes our planet.

If you have any questions about recycling feel free to call us on 01924 273649 (Wakefield) or 01535 669899 (Keighley).

From everyone at CJ Metals, we hope you have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
